From our first sailing in 1986, Windstar has been dedicated to casually elegant small ship cruising. Through the years, we've added ships, increased our destinations, and offered new itineraries and amenities to provide an unparalleled selection of intimate sailings to the world's most fascinating places.
Windstar fleet of small ships carry between 148-342 guests. So, wherever you go, you can slip past the crowds to discover smaller ports and get to know the local culture on more intimate excursions. We offer two different ship styles, and design journeys that highlight their unique attributes, whether that might be island hopping in Tahiti or sailing through the Norwegian Fjords.
Windstar Sails Ships
Sailing ships embody the very essence of small ship sailing, with the look of a sailboat but fully stabilized for smooth sailing. These sleek 4 or 5-masted sailing ships feature wide-open teak decks overlooking the beautiful seas and hidden nooks for quiet moments. Clients have three options to choose from, including Wind Star, the very first of our sailing ships, Wind Spirit and Wind Surf, Windstar’s flagship sailing ship.

Small, Intimate Ports
Windstar guests enjoy access to smaller, more intimate ports of call and some of the world's most breathtaking hidden harbors. We go places the larger ships can't.
Windstar guests experience pampered, personal attention with a crew who knows their names and happily anticipates their wants and needs.
Casually elegant freedom is the overriding principle aboard ship. No jackets, ties or formal gowns are required. Open seating and restaurant choices for meals. The freedom to do as much or little as they like. Guests quickly meet like-minded new friends aboard ship, creating lasting relationships.
Windstar's small ships mean no lines, no waiting, and the space to be alone or gather with others. On shore, they enjoy the experiences of small group excursions and longer stays in ports.
In contrast to the big ship experience, there is no regimentation. Guests enjoy open seating at restaurants; uncrowded deck space; an Open Bridge; 24-hour room service menu-and because the ships dock close in and guests can quickly and easily disembark the ship, they can spend more time having fun in port.

Windstar Cruises Cut The Ship In Half
The Star Breeze, Star Legend, and Star Pride, will undergo a major renovation in 2020. $250 Million (probably more) will transform the three all-suite Star Class ships, from end-to-end: New public areas, including a two new dining venues, a new spa, infinity pool, and fitness area. The ship also boasts all new bathrooms in every suite and a new category of Star suites, featuring a new layout. With ocean-views and over 277 square feet of comfort, Star Breeze is the perfect ship to watch glaciers and fjords drift by from the serenity of your suite.
